DIP switches

Please find two DIP switches groups on rear side of the NETServer: "Modem configuration" (DIP SW #1) and "NETServer configuration" (DIP SW #2) and set its like presents on picture:

Console RS232 port settings

  • 9600 bod (consult to DIP SW 2-1 and 2-2 positions and table on rear side of case)
  • 8 data bits
  • none parity
  • 1 stop bit
  • Hardware flow control using RTS/CTS signals pair (not need but advisable)

    Identification

    Connect console cable to "AUX" port and turn power switch to "ON" position. Some seconds later you may see following text on console:

    Initialisation

    Reset old settings

    Set "NETServer configuration" DIP switch 4 to "ON" position and reboot (drop and restore power). After boot return DIP switch 4 back to "OFF" position to prevent erase your changes at next boot.

    Setup NETServer (manual)

    Connect console cable to "Console" port and press "Enter" on console. NETServer displays:

    Command> 
    NETServer ready to configure from console using CLI. You may see command reference on type HELP.

    Setup NETServer (GUI/automate)

    After first time configure using "NETStarter" you may use "NETServer Manager Plus" software to manage NETServer by SNMP protocol.
